Acrobat X Pro for Windows requires the following:
· 1.3 Gigahertz or faster processor
· Microsoft Windows XP Home, Professional, or Tablet PC Edition with Service Pack 3 for 32-bit (with Service Pack 2 for 64-bit); Windows Server 2003 (32-bit and 64-bit; Service Pack 2 required for 64-bit); Windows Server 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit); Windows Server® 2008 R2 (32-bit and 64-bit); Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 2 (32-bit and 64-bit); Microsoft Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise (32-bit and 64-bit)
· 512 MB of installed RAM (1 GB recommended)
· 1.9 GB of available hard disk space (Note: The installer creates temporary files during installation so the actual hard disk space required at that time is greater than the values listed.)
· 1,024 x 576 screen resolution
· Internet Explorer 7 or 8; Firefox 3.5 or 3.6
· DVD-ROM drive, if installing from a DVD
· Video hardware acceleration optional

Use the following instructions to install new software or to upgrade from a previous version. If you are installing an upgrade, you may be required to provide proof of ownership.
1. Restart Windows and turn off any antivirus software.
2. Start the installation:
Adobe recommends you back up your download package, preferably to a DVD before installing the software. When you double-click on the .exe to decompress it,
<system drive>:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Desktop\Adobe Acrobat X folder is created on the desktop. When ready to install, open the Adobe Acrobat X folder and double-click setup.exe
3. In the Adobe Acrobat X setup dialog box, select a language if necessary and click Next.
4. Enter the serial number for your copy of the program. The serial number for individually licensed purchases is located on the outside of the DVD case, or on the receipt page for ESD (electronic software delivery) purchases made through the Adobe Store. You can also locate the serial number for individually licensed ESD purchases in your online order history at http://www.adobe.com. The serial number for purchases made through the Adobe Licensing Website is available in your record at http://licensing.adobe.com.
5. Select an installation type:
Note: For a description of a component, select Custom, and click Next. Then select a component to see its description. Click Back to return to selecting a type of installation if you do not want to continue with a custom installation.
6. Click Next, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
7. Activation is an anonymous series of simple and quick steps completed by the software upon launch. For more information on product activation, visit the Adobe website at: http://www.adobe.com/products/activation/
1. Launch the Control Panel and from it select Add or Remove Programs.
2. From the list of applications that appears, highlight Acrobat X and press the Remove/Uninstall button.
3. A dialog appears asking for confirmation to remove Acrobat. Choose Yes to uninstall the product.
Please complete your registration. When you start Acrobat, Acrobat may prompt you to register your software. You may also choose Product Registration from the Help menu to register your software. Alternatively, you can register your software by filling in and mailing the registration card if you purchased Acrobat in a product box. You must register to receive technical support.
